Sala da Pranzo
Made-to-order rölakan flat weave rug designed by Märta Måås-Fjetterström. Handwoven wool on linen warp according to the artist’s detailed instructions.
Märta Måås-Fjetterström was commissioned to deliver nineteen rugs to the Swedish Institute’s new building in Rome, constructed 1938-1940. Sala da Pranzo was one of the original designs MMF developed for the project, and it was designated for the formal dining room. All of the rugs shared a simple and pared-down aesthetic, complementing Ivar Tengbom’s elegant, understated architecture. A few years later, Tengbom would design the new MMF studio – which has been our home ever since.
Sala da Pranzo can be woven in many sizes. Please use the button below to make an inquiry.
