Vintage knotted rya rug designed by Ulla Marianne Richter in 1959. Handwoven at Märta Måås-Fjetterström AB, Båstad, Sweden by Ingrid Ljunggren. Marked AB MMF and MR (artist’s initials). 

The rug comes with a certificate of authenticity. 

The biennial plant Angelica archangelica inspired Marianne Richter to create this subtle rya rug. Angelica has long been used in both Sámi and Nordic cultures for cooking and medicinal needs. 

MATERIALS AND CARE
The rug is hand-knotted in wool on a linen warp. Wool is naturally stain-resistant and should not be washed too frequently, as this can strip the natural oils that protect the fibers.

To ensure even wear, rotate the rug periodically. Regular vacuuming is beneficial, but avoid vacuuming the braided edges and refrain from using a vacuum with rotating brushes.
