Gul kvist
Tapestry designed by Barbro Nilsson. Handwoven wool and linen on linen warp by Lena Wickman Wickström at the studio in Båstad, Sweden and marked AMF (artist's initials). 56 x 58 cm, including frame.
The tapestry is framed in a solid oak frame with art glass and a backing of linen fabric woven locally in Båstad. It comes with a certificate of authenticity from Märta Måås-Fjetterström AB and is currently on display at our Båstad studio and showroom.
The pattern is built around a branching, stylized twig motif—kvist meaning “twig” in Swedish. The Tree of Life is a universal symbol found in art across cultures and centuries. Representing growth, connection, and the cycle of life, it often stands for the link between heaven and earth, the past and the future. Its roots ground it in history, while its branches reach toward possibility.
