Handwoven in 1992 at Märta Måås-Fjetterström AB, Båstad, Sweden by Birgit Svensson. Marked AB MMF and UB (artist’s initials). 

The rug is recorded in the Märta Måås-Fjetterström archive under inventory number 5538.

Tjärn was initially designed and woven in a 450 x 450 cm format for the editor-in-chief's office at Sydsvenska dagbladet in Malmö, Sweden.
